Description

This hearty and comforting Tater Tot Casserole is a family favorite! With savory ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, sour cream, and melted cheddar cheese, all topped with crispy tater tots, it’s the perfect easy weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

 

  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, or any favorite spices

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Season with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings you prefer. Mix well and heat through.
  • Transfer the beef mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  • Arrange the frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.

 

  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can customize the seasonings to your taste with garlic powder, paprika, or your favorite spices.
  • To make it even heartier, add some vegetables like peas or corn.
