- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, or any favorite spices
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Season with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings you prefer. Mix well and heat through.
- Transfer the beef mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Serve hot and enjoy!

- To make it even heartier, add some vegetables like peas or corn.
