Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drums)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp sriracha sauce (or more, depending on desired heat level)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
- Fresh cilantro (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Prep the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Bake the wings: Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
- Make the sauce: While the wings are baking, combine the honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes).
- Coat the wings: Once the wings are baked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the sweet and spicy sauce over them. Toss until they are fully coated.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro (optional). Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
- Adjust the level of sweetness or spice by adding more honey or sriracha sauce, depending on your preference.
- You can also make these wings in an air fryer by cooking them at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
