Description

These Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings are the perfect balance of heat and sweetness. The crispy wings are coated in a tangy, spicy sauce with a touch of sweetness that creates a flavor explosion in every bite. Perfect for game day or any occasion that calls for a crowd-pleasing dish!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drums)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce (or more, depending on desired heat level)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

  • Fresh cilantro (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Prep the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bake the wings: Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
  4. Make the sauce: While the wings are baking, combine the honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Coat the wings: Once the wings are baked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the sweet and spicy sauce over them. Toss until they are fully coated.
  6. Garnish and serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro (optional). Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
  • Adjust the level of sweetness or spice by adding more honey or sriracha sauce, depending on your preference.

  • You can also make these wings in an air fryer by cooking them at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
