Description

Tender, juicy, and full of bold BBQ flavor — this Slow Cooker Beef Brisket is the ultimate comfort food. A spice-rubbed brisket slow-cooked to perfection, then slathered in a sweet and tangy homemade BBQ sauce. It’s an easy, no-fuss dish that’s perfect for family dinners, holidays, or backyard-style meals without the grill!

Ingredients

Scale

Brisket:

  • 3 to 4 pounds beef brisket

Dry Rub:

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons paprika

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper

BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons onion powder

  • 2 teaspoons black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Prep the Brisket:
Pat the brisket dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix all dry rub ingredients until combined. Rub the mixture evenly over the brisket.

  2. Make the BBQ Sauce:
In another bowl, whisk together all BBQ sauce ingredients. Set aside.

  3. Slow Cook:
Place the seasoned brisket into a slow cooker. Pour about half of the BBQ sauce over the meat, spreading it evenly.

  4. Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until the meat is tender and easily shreddable.

  5. Finish & Serve:
Transfer brisket to a cutting board. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then slice or shred. Serve with the remaining BBQ sauce drizzled on top or on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the brisket on both sides before adding to the slow cooker.

Leftovers make amazing brisket sandwiches or tacos!

Sauce can be simmered on the stovetop for a few minutes after slow cooking to thicken if desired.
