Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans pizza dough
- 1 cup marinara sauce (or pizza sauce)
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough into 6 equal circles (using a pizza pan or a round baking dish as a guide).
- Place the dough circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once the dough is baked, remove from the oven and set aside.
- In a round cake pan, start layering the pizza. Begin with a dough circle at the bottom, then spread a layer of marinara sauce, followed by a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and a layer of pepperoni. Repeat this process until you have used all the dough circles and toppings.
- Finish with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake the pizza cake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and then carefully slice and serve.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- For a variation, you can add other pizza toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives between the layers.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, you can bake the individual dough circles a little longer before stacking.
- Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping!
