Description

This One-Pan Creamy Parmesan Chicken & Rice is a comforting, creamy, and savory dish that comes together easily in one pan. With tender chicken breasts, fluffy rice, and a rich Parmesan sauce, it’s the perfect weeknight dinner for the whole family!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Cook the Rice: Add the rice to the pan, stirring to coat with the onion and garlic mixture. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  • Make it Creamy: Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, then return the chicken breasts to the pan.
  • Simmer: Cover the pan, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the rice is tender and the sauce has thickened.

  • Finish & Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can use bone-in chicken for extra flavor, but adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or peas to the dish for extra color and nutrients.

  • If the sauce is too thick, add a little more chicken broth to reach your desired consistency.
