Description

These Lemon Cream Cheese Bars are a perfect balance of tangy lemon zest, creamy cheese filling, and a buttery crescent roll crust. Easy to make and bursting with fresh flavor, they’re the ultimate treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or homemade dough if preferred)
  • 2 large fresh lemons (for zest and juice)
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Seal the seams.
  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add the zest and juice of the lemons, and beat until well incorporated.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the top of the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with an additional 2 tbsp sugar.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares. For best results, chill in the fridge for an hour before serving.

Notes

  • Full-fat cream cheese is preferred for the best texture and flavor.
  • For extra tanginess, add more lemon juice or zest.
  • You can experiment with adding fruit like strawberries or blueberries for a twist.
