Description

These Teriyaki Meatballs are tender, flavorful, and made with lean ground turkey for a healthier option. A sweet and savory teriyaki glaze coats each meatball, creating a delicious bite every time. Perfect for dinner, appetizers, or meal prep!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey (lean)
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Teriyaki Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional for added flavor)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, panko bread crumbs, chopped green onions, egg, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
  • While the meatballs are baking, prepare the teriyaki glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • If you’d like a thicker glaze, mix the cornstarch with a little water to form a slurry and add it to the saucepan. Stir the glaze until it thickens to your desired consistency, then remove from heat.
  • Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the teriyaki glaze or drizzle the glaze over the meatballs.
  • Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with extra chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer, you can cook these meatballs in a skillet over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure they cook evenly.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free panko breadcrumbs and make sure your soy sauce is gluten-free (tamari is a good option).
