Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken recipe features a perfect balance of sweet honey and savory garlic, creating a flavorful sauce that coats tender, juicy chicken. It’s an easy-to-make, quick, and delicious meal, perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

  • Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

  • Add the Liquids: Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  • Coat the Chicken: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the honey garlic sauce over the top. Let the chicken cook in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally to coat the chicken in the sauce.

  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately, with steamed rice or vegetables on the side.

Notes

  • Thicker Sauce: If you prefer a thicker sauce, allow it to simmer a little longer before adding the chicken back.

  • Spice It Up: Add more red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to give it an extra kick.

  • Rice and Vegetables: Serve with rice and your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
