Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup gluten-free oat flour
- 1/2 cup gluten-free protein powder (unflavored or vanilla)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat or non-fat)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)
- Sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free oat flour, protein powder, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, egg, and almond milk.
- Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until a dough forms. The dough will be thick but should be pliable. If it’s too dry, add a little more almond milk, one tablespoon at a time.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then use your fingers to make a hole in the middle, forming a bagel shape.
- Place the bagels in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch. If you like, brush them with olive oil and sprinkle sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning on top.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Let the bagels cool slightly before slicing and serving with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- You can use dairy-free yogurt if you need a dairy-free version.
- For a savory twist, try adding finely chopped herbs like rosemary or thyme to the dough.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
- For more flavor, try topping with cream cheese, smoked salmon, or avocado.
