Description
These pancakes are made with basic ingredients found in pretty much every pantry. You can easily double or triple your output simply by doubling or tripling your ingredients. The chocolate chips are sweet and soft enough to appeal to even the pickiest eaters. They’ll melt easily while cooking, so you’ll end up with awesomely gooey chocolate bursts all throughout your pancakes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract together.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. It’s okay if the batter is a little lumpy.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.
Notes
- If you prefer extra fluffy pancakes, use buttermilk instead of regular milk.
- You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or a handful of chopped nuts for added flavor.
