- ¼ cup sprinkles or colored sugar (for decoration)
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract (and almond extract if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Flatten each cookie slightly with the bottom of a glass or your fingers. If desired, sprinkle with sugar or sprinkles.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
