Description

This Creamy Garlic Chicken is a rich, flavorful dish with tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy, garlicky sauce. It’s a quick and easy recipe, perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. The combination of garlic, cream, and Parmesan makes for a dreamy, indulgent sauce!

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

Instructions

  • Cook the chicken: Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  • Make the garlic sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant (be careful not to burn it). Add the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.

  • Add the cream and Parmesan: Reduce the heat to medium. Pour in the heavy cream, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened (about 3-4 minutes).

  • Combine the chicken and sauce: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 3-4 minutes to absorb the flavors and reheat.

 

  • Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes (if using). Serve the creamy garlic chicken over pasta, rice, or with a side of vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the sauce just before serving.
  • You can also add spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra texture and flavor.
