Description

Indulge in the perfect combination of juicy strawberries and smooth, rich chocolate with these easy-to-make chocolate covered strawberries. They’re an ideal treat for parties, holidays, or just as a sweet snack. With just two simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and impressive dessert in no time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (or milk chocolate, depending on your preference)
  • Optional: White chocolate for drizzling, sprinkles, or chopped nuts for decoration

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper to place the dipped strawberries on.
  • Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stove.
  • Dip the strawberries: Hold the strawberries by the stem and dip each one into the melted chocolate, swirling it to coat the berry completely, leaving the top exposed.
  • Let excess chocolate drip off, then place the dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet.
  • If desired, drizzle with melted white chocolate or sprinkle with chopped nuts or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  • Chill: Place the strawberries in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping them, as water can cause the chocolate to seize up.
  • You can use any type of chocolate for dipping—dark, milk, or white chocolate. You can also mix them together for a combination of flavors.
  • If you’re making these ahead of time, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best eaten within 2 days.
