Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed and dried
- 8 oz dark chocolate (or milk chocolate, depending on your preference)
- Optional: White chocolate for drizzling, sprinkles, or chopped nuts for decoration
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper to place the dipped strawberries on.
- Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stove.
- Dip the strawberries: Hold the strawberries by the stem and dip each one into the melted chocolate, swirling it to coat the berry completely, leaving the top exposed.
- Let excess chocolate drip off, then place the dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet.
- If desired, drizzle with melted white chocolate or sprinkle with chopped nuts or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Chill: Place the strawberries in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping them, as water can cause the chocolate to seize up.
- You can use any type of chocolate for dipping—dark, milk, or white chocolate. You can also mix them together for a combination of flavors.
- If you’re making these ahead of time, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best eaten within 2 days.
