Description

These cheesy taco sticks are the ultimate comfort food, combining seasoned ground beef with gooey melted cheese, all wrapped in pizza dough and baked to perfection. Great for a family dinner, snack, or party appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. ground beef

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix, or homemade taco seasoning

  • 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough

  • 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved

  • 4 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

  • Cook the beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

  • Season the beef: Add the taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade) to the beef along with the required amount of water (per package instructions). Stir to combine and simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  • Prepare the pizza dough: Roll out the Pillsbury pizza dough on a clean surface, stretching it slightly to form a rectangle or square.

  • Assemble the taco sticks: Place a cheese stick half in the center of the dough, then spoon a generous amount of the seasoned beef mixture around it. Roll up the dough tightly, sealing the edges to form a stick.

  • Brush with butter: Place the rolled taco sticks on a baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and dried parsley.

  • Bake: Bake according to the instructions on the pizza dough package (typically around 375°F for 12-15 minutes), or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

  • Serve: Remove from the oven, slice, and serve with your favorite dipping sauce like salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.

  • Feel free to add extra toppings to the beef mixture, like diced onions or bell peppers, for added flavor.

  • These can be made ahead and frozen, then baked when ready to serve.
