Description

This no-knead artisan bread recipe is perfect for beginners! With minimal effort and just a few simple ingredients, you can create a crunchy, golden crust and a soft, chewy interior. Ideal for anyone who loves fresh, homemade bread without the hassle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast (or instant yeast)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and yeast.
  • Add the warm water and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until all the flour is incorporated and a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rest at room temperature for about 12-18 hours, or until it has doubled in size and is bubbly on top.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Place a Dutch oven (or a heavy oven-safe pot with a lid) in the oven to heat up for about 30 minutes.
  • Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a well-floured surface and gently shape it into a round loaf.
  • Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven and place the dough inside. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • This bread requires a long resting time, so it’s best to prepare it the night before you want to bake it.
  • You can use instant yeast instead of active dry yeast, and skip the proofing step if you prefer.
  • A well-heated Dutch oven helps create that perfect crust.
