Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds thin sliced chicken breasts
- Kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning the chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups (or more as needed) Panko bread crumbs
- Vegetable or canola oil for frying
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese
- 12 slider rolls
- Bang Bang Sauce (recipe below)
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Season the thin-sliced chicken breasts with kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Prepare the Breading: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour and cornstarch. In a second bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. In a third bowl, place the Panko bread crumbs.
- Coat the Chicken: Dip each chicken breast slice into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat with the Panko bread crumbs. Set aside.
- Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded chicken slices in batches for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Assemble the Sliders: Toast the slider rolls lightly in a pan or oven. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each roll, then top with a fried chicken breast.
- Add the Sauce: Drizzle or spread a generous amount of Bang Bang Sauce on top of the chicken, then add the top of the slider roll.
- Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- You can make the Bang Bang Sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for a few days.
- For a spicier version, increase the amount of hot sauce in both the chicken batter and the Bang Bang sauce.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can bake the chicken instead of frying it.
