Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Sliders feature crispy chicken coated in a creamy, spicy Bang Bang sauce, all nestled inside a soft slider roll. Perfect for game day, parties, or an easy weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds thin sliced chicken breasts
  • Kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning the chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups (or more as needed) Panko bread crumbs
  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slider rolls
  • Bang Bang Sauce (recipe below)

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  • Prep the Chicken: Season the thin-sliced chicken breasts with kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Prepare the Breading: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour and cornstarch. In a second bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. In a third bowl, place the Panko bread crumbs.
  • Coat the Chicken: Dip each chicken breast slice into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat with the Panko bread crumbs. Set aside.
  • Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded chicken slices in batches for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Assemble the Sliders: Toast the slider rolls lightly in a pan or oven. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each roll, then top with a fried chicken breast.
  • Add the Sauce: Drizzle or spread a generous amount of Bang Bang Sauce on top of the chicken, then add the top of the slider roll.

  • Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can make the Bang Bang Sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for a few days.
  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of hot sauce in both the chicken batter and the Bang Bang sauce.

  • If you prefer a lighter version, you can bake the chicken instead of frying it.
